Solo blogging MIE effort - Random

This is gonnabe a very rojak post on the various pictures I've collected so far. Pardon the bad resolution and some of them, I just can't remember the exact locations. I will however try to post the district if possible if ever you're just in the neighbourhood. =)

Continued from where we left off at Dapur Sunda we have ...

Ikan Gurame Goreng - this baby here will set you back at least SGD $10. Depending on seasonal price and portions of course. Good Gurame is crisp to the point you can almost eat everything, fins, bones etc. minus the fishy smell. Served with sweet dark soya sauce with fresh cut chillies for dipping.

I guess you can get Sambal Kangkong prepared this way in any other restaurant across Malaysia and even Singapore so seeing this dish is like an arrival of a familiar friend.

And sometimes, just sometimes, you need a little variety that reminds you of home. This one came in a fix of Japanese food at Dim Sum Food festival at Kemang Raya (best bit ... 24 hours! woohoo). Clockwise from the top French Fries (gaijin!), Spider sushi (softshelled crab, cucumber, avacardo, sushi rice wrapped in seaweed and topped generously with prawn roe) and Fried Salmon skin.

Chawanmushi - egg custard with enoki mushrooms, crab stick, chicken meat.
