Blood Type Diet

Today marks the first day of an experiment that I'm giving a go.

Just last week I went past a store that sold supplements catered to your blood group suggesting that you should eat according to what blood group you are to make up for the generic deficiencies and leverage on the strengths.

Ahem having a slight constipation problem - its an old one that's been bothering me ever since I was a kid now, I've decided to give it a go even though the thought of going vegetarian totally scares me.

I will cheat on some bits though. I won't go vegetarian totally because of the fear that I'm so absolutely going pass out, so in order not to cheat myself that I reach a compromise.

I'll will go meatless for 2 weeks - a fair time for detox me thinks. So perhaps no meat but meat based stocks is ok.

I intend to blog this project to look at it in a more fun aspect, believe me I've had major skeptic remarks from lackey ... this girl simply loves her meat.

Stay tuned then!

Wine Connection and Fisherman's Wharf

We'll begin with Wine Connection:

We celebrated Mr Vinod's(pictured with a cake from Chocolate Factory) birthday there.

Vinod is an acquaintance of mine whom I got to know from Lacky and Normie's bunch of Potong guys as they like to call themselves.

Wine connection is my new found favourite wine hangout. They sell wine by the bottles at wholesale prices. Cheeeeeep I tell ya. Location wise quite open, but please bear in mind no a/c coz it’s an open place and a reservation is encouraged due to the lack of seating as well.

Wine Connection serves food from Poppi, somewhere nearby but you get your food in takeaway trays. Even $20 Bolognese pasta served to you in plastic boxes. So tak glam lah!

On a whole it was a nice evening, Labour Day eve, not many people out and about.

I had a personal issue with the boys. Too much testosterone flying about after a friend of his came down and started to loudly show off his money and the fact that he bought a cigar for the birthday boy.

Lackey started showing off his profound knowledge of cigars. By the end of the night Birthday boy went home with at least 5 cigars. Well its his birthday after all. I really couldn’t give a flying fuck.

Show off also started exclaiming loudly that the cigar shop nearby sold cigars cheaper than the one he went. And he was showing off his cake that he bought his cake from Pan Pac hotel.

Please lor, you come so late. Must be queuing up for the half price cakes after 8pm or 9pm. Think I dunno issit? Muahaha. Jeez, I just hate show offs.
Men. Dumb.

Fisherman’s Wharf

I found this hole in the wall 2 years ago with V when we still took Salsa lessons together at LADC so this place holds very special meaning to me.

I’ve since been there numerous occasions with MANY different other people because I simply love to share good food.

Brought Brenan – who brought did his class outing there.
Brought Lackey who brought Chiaki, retard, Normie etc.
I think V brought some of his classmates there too.
Brought Smeli and on a return visit C.J there too within the same week.

What FW to me is simply reasonably good food at very reasonable prices.

The place just exudes unpretentiousness.

No A/C means you don’t have to wolf down your fried fish and enjoy a good conversation with your mates. Minimal decor and a huge ass mural at the back. sMeli commented that when it drizzles, the place feels so laid back that you don’t feel like you’re still in Singapore.

If you’ve been there before I dunno if you’ve noticed but I’ve been there 2 years now and in this 2 years, they’ve never gotten a cash register. The cashier takes your order, puts the cash in a cute money pouch and if needed, digs out some shillings for your change.

I’ve heard complaints, the fish frozen not flavourful enough and that sort but seriously you’re paying the same price for the same standard of fish and chips everywhere else in Singapore.

Why pay more makes one more shiok issit? Siao. One of the reasons why I’ve always came back.
So there.

Ramen Ramen

Been surfing http://www.hungrygowhere.com/ alot.
I'm a convert, I simply love that site.

Ramen Ramen Ramen

Was abit worried when I first stepped in, the outside seating was completely empty.

Inside there were a few people here and there.

Decor is really cheesy. Some powerpuff girl like anime in neon colours splashed all over the walls. I felt really old to have noticed that. -.-
Prices of the Ramen was pretty affordable. Not cheap but just ok.
What I liked was the extensive menu. What I didn't like were the cut throat prices for certain items. For instance the soft shell crab. I admit, I'm such a sucker for ssc. But for $8++ a serving all I got was 1 and a half sad looking chopped up crab.
It was just all too confusing. I mean if I were a student, I might go there but not with such prices when Sakae sushi (just around the corner) was serving sushi buffets around the same price.

Lackey : Getting bored.

Ramen Ramen Ramen: House speciality

Miso Ramen

Verdict:

Thanks to Naruto, Lackey and I have a new found appreciation for this stringy noodles. Who wouldn't want to try a bowl of Ichiraku Ramen! There's Ramen and there's instant noodles.

I enjoyed my Ramen ok but Lackey complained that his broth wasn't as flavourful.

Also, they cheated quite abit on a couple of things.

Typical Japanse Ramen usually comes with a "golden egg" this one is more like any ordinary hard boiled egg, no bamboo shoots and we suspect the huge ass nori is used to cover for the lack of ingredients.

-.- Sad right?

Burp!
